भागवत पुराण हिन्दुओं के अट्ठारह पुराणों में से एक है। इसे श्रीमद्भागवतम् या केवल भागवतम् भी कहते हैं। इसका मुख्य वर्ण्य विषय भक्ति योग है, जिसमें कृष्ण को सभी देवों का देव या स्वयं भगवान के रूप में चित्रित किया गया है। इसके अतिरिक्त इस पुराण में रस भाव की भक्ति का निरुपण भी किया गया है। परंपरागत तौर पर इस पुराण के रचयिता वेद व्यास को माना जाता है।

श्रीमद्भागवत भारतीय वाङ्मय का मुकुटमणि है। भगवान शुकदेव द्वारा महाराज परीक्षित को सुनाया गया भक्तिमार्ग तो मानो सोपान ही है। इसके प्रत्येक श्लोक में श्रीकृष्ण-प्रेम की सुगन्धि है। इसमें साधन-ज्ञान, सिद्धज्ञान, साधन-भक्ति, सिद्धा-भक्ति, मर्यादा-मार्ग, अनुग्रह-मार्ग, द्वैत, अद्वैत समन्वय के साथ प्रेरणादायी विविध उपाख्यानों का अद्भुत संग्रह है।[1]

इसमें कुल बारह स्कंध (खंड) हैं, जिनमें भगवान श्री कृष्ण के जीवन, लीलाओं, और भक्ति की गहराई से चर्चा की गई है। यहाँ पर हर एक स्कंध की विस्तृत जानकारी दी गई है:

1. पहला स्कंध (Book 1)

अध्याय 1-19: प्रारंभ और अवतार

• अध्याय 1-2: श्रीमद्भागवतम् का परिचय, सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति, और वेदव्यास का जीवन।

Bhagavat Purana is one of the eighteen Puranas of Hindus. It is also called Shrimad Bhagavatam or simply Bhagavatam. Its main subject is Bhakti Yoga, in which Krishna is depicted as the God of all gods or God himself. Apart from this, the devotion of Rasa Bhaav has also been described in this Purana. Traditionally, Ved Vyas is considered to be the author of this Purana.

Srimad Bhagavat is the crown jewel of Indian literature. The path of devotion narrated by Lord Shukdev to Maharaj Parikshit is like a step. There is a fragrance of Shri Krishna's love in every verse of it. It has a wonderful collection of various inspiring anecdotes along with the coordination of Sadhan-Gyan, Siddha Gyan, Sadhan-Bhakti, Siddha-Bhakti, Maryada-Marg, Anugraha-Marg, Dvaita, Advaita. [1]

It has a total of twelve Skandhas (sections), in which the life, pastimes, and devotion of Lord Shri Krishna have been discussed in depth. Here is a detailed description of each chapter:

1. First Chapter (Book 1)

Chapters 1-19: Beginning and incarnations

Chapters 1-2: Introduction to Srimad Bhagavatam, origin of creation, and life of Vedavyas.

Chapters 3-6: Tyranny of Kansa and birth of Shri Krishna.

Chapters 7-10: Childhood pastimes of Shri Krishna, such as lifting of Govardhan mountain and killing of Kansa.
